Bahamas Flag Bearer for Commonwealth Day Observance 2015

The High Commission is looking to identify a young person of outstanding achievement to carry the nation's flag at the Commonwealth Day Observance at Westminster Abbey on Monday 9 March 2015. The flag bearer should be a national of The Bahamas currently resident in the UK, aged between 15 and 25, and have had an impact in the area of 'A young Commonwealth' (the 2015 Commonwealth theme), have made a positive contribution to their local communities, or are actively engaged in Commonwealth activities.

The Commonwealth Day Observance will commence at 15:00 but flag bearers will be required from 08:30 on the day.  Please note that it will be the responsibility of flag bearers to arrange transportation to/from Westminster Abbey - should they reside outside of London.

If you would like to nominate a young person who you think fits these criteria, please complete and return the enclosed form  to the High Commission by e-mail at by the close of business on Friday 16 January 2015.

After the close of the nomination period a suitable young person will be identified and their name forwarded by the High Commission to the event Organizers.
