Bahamas Attends 7th UK/Caribbean Forum

The Government of The Bahamas was represented at the 7th UK/Caribbean Forum, which was held in St. George's, Grenada from 20 to 22 January 2012. The Bahamian delegation was lead by H.E. Mr. Sidney Collie, High Commissioner to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), and included Mr. Frank Davis, First Secretary and Consul, Bahamas High Commission; Ms Charmaine Williams, Foreign Service Officer; and Ms Rita Kaufmann, Foreign Service Officer, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The UK delegation to the Forum was lead by the Rt Hon William Hague, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.  He was joined by Ministers from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Home Office, and the Department for International Development, as well as a number of senior officials from the British public and private sectors.

During the session High Commissioner Collie made a statement on the topic "Moving Up the Value Chain: The Future for Tourism in the Caribbean.
